Some companies or fundraisers require you to have a tax ID number. I got one this year, simply for 3-Day fundraising. For exampl, if you get one check made out to the 3-Day but you need it to go to 3 different walkers, things get difficult. But, if you get the check written to my non-profit, then I can split the check and donate it to 3 people.
